Shopping Cart Software What It Is and What It Does
Shopping Cart Software is, as the name implies, based on the same principle as a shopping cart you find in your grocery store. If you are planning to sell your own products or to create an ecommerce store as a reseller, you should consider adding shopping cart software to your site.
PayPal as an Option
One of the first options we discover when we start selling our own products is PayPal. It has the great advantage that it is free and that, if we buy from eBay, chances are we already have a PayPal account that we can simply upgrade to a business account to be able to receive payments. The upgrade is free as well, though there are upgrades to a merchant account that are not free.
PayPal is not as flexible as a dedicated shopping cart. One thing that I dislike about PayPal is that if you are receiving payments as a person rather than as a business your email address is included in the HTML code and can be picked up by scraper software, which opens the window to spam and other problems.
Another thing that I dislike about PayPal is that they froze my account once for selling an affiliate product that used the Rapid Action Profits; they thought it was some pyramid scheme. They reactivated my account in a few days, but I couldnt sell anything that used PayPal as a payment processor during those days, and I could never sell that product again. Not to mention the fact that I couldnt access my money.
Buy Now vs. Add To Cart
Im sure you are familiar with the PayPal buy-now buttons. One problem with those is that once you click on a buy-now button you are immediately taken to PayPal in order to process your payment.
PayPal and eBay have now added add-to-cart buttons, that way you can keep shopping and pay when you get ready to leave. That is the whole idea behind true shopping cart software, but there is more.
What Does Shopping Cart Software Include?
Shopping cart software offers true ecommerce solution that provides the tools necessary to manage your online store. Shopping cart software is much more than just a way to process payment. Here are some of the features typically included:
Web design through store setup wizards that walk you through the entire process
Search engine optimization flexibility
A search feature that may be one of the best additions to your site
Ability to keep track of inventory
The ability to organize and search through products by categories
Autoresponder integration, so you dont lose touch with your customers
Coupons, Up-sell, and cross-sell
Customizable checkout and payment process
Security and fraud protection
Social media integration
Greatest Advantages of Shopping Cart Software?
The greatest advantage of adding shopping cart software to your site is the overall control that you gain in managing your online store. The administrative and inventory controls give you the flexibility you need to make solid decisions about your business.
If you are not a web designer, the shopping cart software can come to your rescue there. With integrated wizards and templates, you can create a very professional ecommerce store.
In addition to that, the integrated fraud protection features will give you and your customers the sense of security that is needed to do business online.
There are even programs that can help you with marketing, by integrating social media, or by giving you the ability to do up-selling and cross-selling.

When blogging first started, the themes that were available were very limited. Everyone assumed that header graphics had to be dull and were needed. Neither is true. You decide what you'll use.
Just like traffic comes into a city through many roads, so also does traffic come to your website through various pages. Plan your navigation for easy traffic distribution.
When you are creating niche sites, it is a good idea to add a header that reflect the subject matter. A header is more than a logo.
I was recently looking at old articles on a website that references pages that no longer exist. If you click that link, you get a 404 error page.
Website templates and blog themes are a great way to start a website, but if you are creative, you will not be satisfied until you can design your own.
Just like magazines insert subscrition forms in a variety of ways (loose cards, tear-outs, cut-outs, etc) so should you use optin forms in your pages to capture visitors' information.
Pay attention to the websites you visit and look at their squeeze pages. Start your own collection to get ideas on the type you would like to add to your website.
It is inspiring to see websites that only use adsense for monetization and can produce enough income for the owners to even hire employees.
Words sell, but marketing graphics enhance the message and can even be used to lead the reader through the message and to the point where he/she takes action.
